Designed to Create a Better Office Experience

HSBC Place represents a best-in-class office environment, designed to exceed tenants comfort while optimizing operational efficiencies. HSBC Place is built to the WELL® Building Standard, targeting Gold level of Certification, focusing on the health and wellbeing of the building’s occupants. HSBC Place is also designed to target the LEED®Gold® certification, an independent verification system for healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.

WELL® 7 Concepts within HSBC Place

As property manager, Epic believes that a commitment to sustainability is good for the environment, good for our tenants and good for our communities.

The following are areas where we have incorporated into HSBC Place:

Water
Water available on the site is intended to limit the presence of 33 contaminants and sediments ensuring high quality drinking water that is clean and microbe-free for tenants and visitors.

Nourishment
Requires the availability of fruits and vegetables and nutritional transparency. It encourages the creation of food environments, where the healthiest choice is the easiest choice.

Light
Over 75% of the regularly occupied spaces are exposed to daylight and provides enhanced views of the greater Edmonton landscape.

Movement
Onsite gym (The Wellness Centre) within the building, bicycle storage, and post-commute shower/locker facilities to support physically active lifestyles, transportation, and exercise.

Air
Use of performance thresholds, filtration and ventilation rates to maintain high quality indoor air and reduce the build-up of indoor air pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). High quality indoor air improves the productivity of our tenants. Green and natural cleaning procedures to help maintain a hygienic and nontoxic indoor environment.

Comfort
Optimal indoor temperature settings are utilized to provide enhanced comfort to tenants. Building is designed to reduce the amount of mechanically generated noise and improve acoustical comfort. Ensuring equal accessibility for all abilities. Individual washrooms ensuring the building is inclusive and welcoming to all.

Mind
The lobby, developed to positively impact occupant mood and nurture innate human-nature connection. Our welcoming lobby space, complete with an immerse digital art installation and use of green design elements has a positive impact on tenant and visitor mental health and wellbeing.
